Do you have what it takes to be on-call firefighter in Skegness?
An informal recruitment day is being held at the Skegness Fire Station in Churchill Avenue from 10am to 2pm.
Members of the public will be given the chance to see if they have what it takes by experiencing some of the fitness tests and talk to firefighters.

Hide AdRetained firefighters are a vital part of today’s Fire and Rescue Service. Nationwide, there are about 18,000 retained firefighters who provide efficient, cost effective and reliable fire and rescue cover to around 60 per cent of the UK.
Crews will be called upon to attend the full range of incidents including fires, floods, road traffic collisions, chemical spills and more, and work alongside their wholetime colleagues at many incidents.
Skegness firefighter Sophie Brownridge said: “It’s the best job in the world. We want to encourage as many people as possible to come along and experience what it could be like to be a retained firefighter and give something back to the community.”
