Preparations are underway for the annual Skegness SO Festival at the Hildreds Shopping Centre.

To mark the event, for the first time in over 20 million years dinosaurs will once again roam Skegness!

Reggie the Raptor, a life-size 16ft by 10ft tall Raptor Dinosaur, will be at the Hildreds on Saturday, July 4 along with his keepers, a palaeontologist and an archaeologist.

Reggie will be introduced to visitors in an amazing show outside the front of the centre.

Steve Andrews, centre manager, explained: “This is an amazing opportunity to see a life-size dinosaur in Skegness and we are really looking forward to it. The Hildreds is proud to sponsor the one day event as part of the Skegness SO Festival. We just hope Reggie behaves and doesn’t cause too many problems for our visitors.

“Some lucky visitors to the centre may even get a close up, hands on experience with Reggie. I am told there may also be a chance to see a dinosaur baby hatch from a dino egg during one of the performances.”

There will be four shows throughout the day on Saturday, July 4 at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm.
