Initial works began today, (Monday, April 20) on the demolition of Skegness’ National Nature Reseve - Gibraltar Point.
The reserve was badly hit by the December 2013 tidal surge and the Visitor Centre was inundated with flood water.
A specialist demolition team from Scunthorpe were at the site today, and had began stripping the outside of buildings, with the main demolition set to take place some time next week.
The work site will soon be surrounded by hoardings when the demolition, expected to take 4–5 days begins.
The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has set up a new Facebook page for Gibraltar Point and the trust are going to use this to give updates on the progress of the new visitor centre, as well as other news and events.
