UPDATE: Man named after body recovered more than four miles out from Skegness shore

The body found four miles out from the Skegness shore this morning (Thursday) has been named locally as Dean Greenwood.

Following the publication of the story this morning people posted tributes on the Standard’s Facebook wall.

Thursday, 9.25am – A man’s body has been recovered from the sea at Skegness, police have said.

The body was discovered by a wind turbine maintenance crew more than four miles out from shore about 1.30pm on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said: “It was recovered by the RNLI lifeboat and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

“The death is being treated as unexplained until that examination has taken place.”

The force says it believes it knows the identity of the man and his family have been notified but a formal identification has not yet taken place.
