Day one of Operation Super Nova focussed on sending out a clear message of zero tolerance regarding drugs supply and dealing in the town.

"A warrant was issued .and officers were deployed to a local address," said T/Insp David Webb. "We want the public to see that even though it seems when they inform us that they believe dealers are operating from a location, we do take it seriously. Once we have enough intelligence we will take action.

"That being said although there are drugs in the town, it is not as great a problem as the public may fear. But it is something we know they are concerned about and that is why we are launching Operation Super Nova. This is just the start."

The arrests follow on from successes earlier in the year when undercover police cracked a county lines operation supplying heroin from Leicester to the streets of Skegness, leading to six people being jailed.

Today, officers were briefed at the start of their shift and headed out from the police station in a tactical support vehicle and two cars.

Within seconds they had forced their way into the property and confronted the men about the allegations.

Drugs were found during a search and more officers arrived to take the arrested suspects into custody.

A police dog then joined officers to check for more drugs.

"This has been a positive outcome with two adult males arrested and a quantity of class A drugs seized," said T/Insp Webb.

The operation also disrupted that day's supply of drugs to customers - although it didn't take long for word to get around.

. As PCSOs stood outside the property offering support and to reassure the neighbourhood, a man on a cycle rode passed and was heard to say, "They have forced their way in - spread the word."
