Theft of telescopic forklift, Ingoldmells

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a telescopic forklift truck from Ingoldmells.

The green Terrex 45 forklift was marked with ‘Greenwood Hire’ on the side and it was taken from a National Grid substation on Walls Lane, Ingoldmells, around 3.30pm on Sunday 11 May.

The vehicle was subsequently recovered on Dawber Lane in Willoughby some time later.

Information from the forklift’s tracker device suggests it was driven on the B1196 at some point.

The vehicle has a top speed of only 10mph and PC Andy Bears is appealing to any motorists who may have been stuck behind it on the roads between Ingoldmells and Willoughby, to come forward.
