The Skegness Neighbourhood Policing Team have launched a new and innovative scheme to help reduce the number of cycle thefts in the area.

Lincolnshire Police are currently running the ‘Stop the Cycle’ campaign to ensure as many pedal cycles as possible across Lincolnshire are security marked.

As part of this initiative, Derek’s Cycles on 35 Roman Bank, Skegness are offering cycle marking in partnership with Lincolnshire Police.

The cycle marking devices cost £6 and are fitted at no extra charge.

Once your pedal cycle is security marked, it will be less attractive in the first instance to cycle thieves, say police.

If your cycle should be stolen, Lincolnshire Police can then circulate your details to national websites to make it difficult for any would be offenders to sell on your cycle.

This ensures you have a better chance of having your property recovered.

Call Derek’s Cycles on 01754 768833 for further details and to book your appointment.
