Police slam thieves over £400 Spilsby pizza shop charity tub theft

Police in Spilsby have hit out at thieves who stole a ‘charity tub’ containing around £400 from a Spilsby pizza shop.

The force is appealing for witnesses to the burglary, which occurred at a pizza shop in Spilsby Market Place between 1pm and 2pm on Tuesday (November 13).

The shop was closed at the time but the offender is believed to have gained entry via the front door and stole approx £400 of cash which was kept in a white plastic catering tub sealed with tape with a slot cut in the top.

PC Paula Young said: “The box contained mainly £1 and £2 coins and is where the owners put their change and save it up to be used for a good cause at Christmas.

“It is very sad that somebody would steal from the shop in this way and I am urging anyone with information to contact me”.

Anyone with information should contact PC Young by dialling 101 and quoting ‘incident 237 of November 13’. You can also report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
