Police have urged caravanners not to leave any valuables in their holiday homes over the winter months after a spate of break-ins in the Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards areas.

The neighbourhood policing team for the two villages have received “a number of reports” of static caravans being targeted over the Christmas period.

A spokesperson said: “Entry has been gained by forcing windows, or the door to the caravans.

“This type of break-in is usually targeting flat screen TVs, however Lincolnshire Police recommend that all valuables are removed from caravans over the closed winter period.

“Also if any flat screen TVs are offered for sale in suspicious cicumstances, or any suspicous activity is noticed, please do not hesitate to contact Lincolnshire Police on telephone number 101,” they added.
