Police appeal over Spilsby pub assault

Lincolnshire Police this morning (Janaury 10) released an appeal for information over an assault in Spilsby on New Year’s Eve.

DC Phil Graves, from Skegness CID, is appealing for further witnesses to an incident of affray in Spilsby on New Year’s Eve.

Police said the incident occurred around 10.45pm on December 31 at the Nelson Butt pub in Market Street and left a 21-year-old man requiring treatment for a head wound.

A 27-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and was later released on police bail until March 14 whilst the investigation continues.

Anyone who was celebrating New Year’s Eve in the pub that evening, and who witnessed the incident, is asked to contact DC Graves by dialling 101 and asking for extension 4351.
