Police in Wainfleet have appealed for information after a canoe was stolen in the town.

The canoe, a one-seater kayak, was stolen sometime between April 4 and 8.

“We are investigating the theft of a canoe from Vicarage Lane in Wainfleet,” said a police spokesperson.

“The canoe is a one-seater kayak with a yellow fibreglass body.

“We believe that such a large item may have drawn attention to the offender/s and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward,” they added.

If you have any information call 101 and ask for PC Calley Murray quoting ‘incident 372 of April 8’. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, enquiries into the incident have led to the finding of two further canoes for which police have yet to establish an owner.

If you have recently lost such an item, or have been the victim of an unreported theft, the police would like to hear from you.
