OAP robbed at Addlethorpe home

AN ELDERLY lady in Rectory Lane, Addlethorpe was robbed by a rogue salesman.

A man selling tea towels and dishcloths called at her home at approximately 1pm on Saturday, May 26.

He is described as a white man, 5’ 8” tall, and of medium build. He had dark hair and was wearing navy blue shorts and carrying a dark coloured rucksack.

After persuading the 93-year-old resident to allow him into the house, he stole her purse using force, leaving her with bruising and swelling to the arm.

DC Phil Graves, from Skegness CID, said, “This was a cowardly crime where unnecessary force has been used against a vulnerable lady in her own home. I am appealing for anyone who saw a man matching this description in Addlethorpe that day to contact me as soon as possible. Although such offences are rare, we would urge all residents to exercise caution when dealing with strangers at the door and not to allow anyone inside.

Anyone with information should contact DC Graves at Lincolnshire Police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 231 of May 26. Report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
