Police in South Yorkshire have appealed for help in locating a missing Barnsley man who may be in the Skegness area.

Forty-eight-year-old Clive O’Connor was reported missing to police on Tuesday, September 3, but is believed to have not been seen by his family since March this year, when he left his home on Tuscany Gardens, Barnsley.

Clive is known to have friends in Birmingham, and police believe that up until last month he may have been living in Skegness, but there have been no reported sightings.

He is described as white, of medium build, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, with brown eyes and dark brown hair.

Clive is also described as having a distinctive lump on the right hand side of his head. He wears gold glasses, and speaks with a Yorkshire accent.

Police are keen to locate Clive as his family grow increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Anyone with information regarding Clive O’Connor’s whereabouts should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting ‘Missing Person Reference BX/2621/2013’.

UPDATE - Clive’s brother Shaun has also now issued a plea to him to come forward, or for anyone who knows his whereabouts to get in touch.

“Clive was known to be working in a bingo Hall in Skegness up to around a month ago,” said Shaun. “He is a very intellectual man who has always been employed at a higher level, he is at heart a computer programmer and has had many high level IT jobs over the years.

“He is however also a very private and proud man. He may see such a plea and be very embarrassed by it, hence my wish to add my personal plea.

“I love Clive, we have had our differences and over the last five years have not been that close, but it does not stop me wishing to know what has happened to Clive, and how I may help if he is having any kind of ongoing problems,” he added.
