Metal theft accused in court

TWO LITHUANIAN men arrested by police involved in Operation Brompton – the county wide drive against metal and fuel theft- have appeared in court at Skegness.

Vidas Andruska, 33, of Newland Street West and Nerijus Razma, 22, of Manby Street, both in Lincoln, were arrested by police on September 22 when they were remanded in custody and were subsequently appearing via video link from Lincoln Prison for a trial date to be fixed.

Prosecuting, Mr Jim Clare said the two men were already on police bail for theft of lead and conditions of that bail were that they were not to associate with each other and had to observe a curfew from 7pm to 7am.

He said that when they were arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft at Croft Lane, Wainfleet at 8pm on September 22, they were in breach of those bail condition.

The two have both denied the charges and in addition Andruska denies driving without a driving licence or insurance.

An application for bail was refused and both men were remanded in custody for trail of November 15 at Skegness Magistrates Court
