Man denies Skegness murder charge

A 21-year-old man has today (Friday) appeared in court to deny the murder of a Skegness man.

Jamie Rawson pleaded not guilty to murdering 31-year-old Peter Schruyers when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.

Mr Schruyers died in Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre after he was injured during an incident in Wainfleet Road, Skegness, on Wednesday, August 10.

Wearing a blue-t-shirt and jogging bottoms Rawson sat in the dock flanked by a security officer as he entered his not guilty plea.

There was no bail application and Judge John Milmo QC adjourned the case for trial at Lincoln Crown Court in February.

Rawson was remanded into custody until his trial, which is expected to last five days.
