Police are warning owners of mobility scooters to be vigilant following a recent increase in thefts in Skegness.
Incident 110 of June 15 refers to the theft of a Shop Rider machine from outside Sutton Court overnight between Sunday and Monday.
Incident 298 of June 15 involves the theft of a mobility scooter around the same time from the Elizabeth Court area.
These two incidents follow another theft earlier this month.
PCSO Dave Bunker said: “Scooters left outside overnight are very vulnerable to theft.
“Although they are bulky machines, it is important that owners take scooters indoors at night or try to house them in securely locked garages or sheds. Where this isn’t possible, invest in a sturdy chain or D lock and consider getting your machine microchipped.
“Neighbourhood Policing Teams regularly hold microchipping sessions so contact your local PCSOs for details of the next one”.
Anyone with information about the thefts should contact Lincolnshire Police by dialling 101 and quoting the incident number. Report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
