Girl, 7, ‘grabbed by old man’ at Ingoldmells showbar


Police are investigating a suspicious incident involving a seven-year-old girl in Ingoldmells.

The child told her parents that while she was upstairs at BJs Leisure and Big Top Showbar in Sea Lane, just before 11pm on Wednesday, July 22, she was grabbed by a man.

She broke free and ran to her parents in the downstairs bar. The parents reported the incident to the police around noon the following day.

Police are attempting to recover CCTV footage from the bar around the time of the incident.

The girl describes him as an ‘old man’ and of average height and slim to medium build with a white moustache and white short hair. He was wearing a black and white t-shirt and black trousers.

The girl was shocked but not injured in the incident.

Anyone who was in BJs Leisure and Big Top Bar on Wednesday evening this week (July 22) around 11pm and may have seen a man approach the little girl or who saw a man running away from the bar around that time is asked to contact the police in confidence on 101.
