A drunk man who was wandering the road in Ingoldmells with his genitals on display, racially abused a paramedic who came to his aid in the early hours of the morning.
Gary Benjamin Willott, 27, of Dinnington, Sheffield admitted racially aggravated abusive behaviour when he appeared before Skegness Magistrates’ Court.
Marie Stace, prosecuting, told the court that police went to Roman Bank in Ingoldmells at 1.07am on May 27 after a report of a man being racially abusive and exposing himself.
She said Willott, who was clearly drunk, had been in the middle of the road with his penis on display, when a passing paramedic had stopped to make sure he was all right.
Willott had repeatedly called the paramedic a ‘Paki ****’ and had told him to ‘**** off, you Paki ****’.
Police told Willott to calm down but he wouldn’t and was finally arrested.
Mitigating, Gordon Holt said Willott’s actions were more a product of the amount of alcohol he had consumed as any racial prejudice.
He said Willott had been in the area on holiday with male friends but just before coming he had been in an accident with another car driven by an Asian and was still aggrieved about that when he came to Skegness.
Mr Holt said that Willott had drunk a ‘huge amount of alcohol’ and vested all his anger of a few days before onto the paramedic and the police.
The magistrates fined Willott £100, of which £50 was for the abuse, and ordered he pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
