A charity collection box containing about £100 has been stolen from a Skegness café.

The theft took place at the Lite Bites café on Roman Bank between 11pm on Monday and 1.30am yesterday (Tuesday).

A door window was smashed to steal the collection box, which contained donations for the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

The collection box was a Jack Daniel’s bottle of whisky design.

Café owner Barry Robinson said: “It was very upsetting that the money has been stolen as we had been collecting for the charity since Christmas.”

Anyone with information about the theft should contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 21 of May 5.
