Car thieves target Skegness tourists

POLICE in Skegness have appealed for information after a number of cars in the town were broken into and several were hotwired by would-be thieves.

Four vehicles in North Parade and another car in St Andrew’s Drive were targeted between 9pm on Saturday, November 19 and 8am the following day.

A Vauxhall Corsa, a Vauxhall Omega and a Ford Mondeo In North Parade all had their nearside passenger windows smashed and were searched inside.

One also had its ignition and cowling ripped off and the ignition hotwired in a possible attempt to steal the vehicle. The fourth vehicle, a Peugeot, was damaged slightly when the hotwired vehicle was moved.

Less than half-a-mile away on St Andrews Drive, another Corsa was targeted. This time a passenger door was prised open and the car hotwired and moved to the next street.

All the vehicles on North Parade belonged to holidaymakers in Skegness for the weekend.
