Police in Skegness have appealed to the public to report incidents of begging on the streets, following a number of incidents in Skegness.

“We have received a number of reports that a male on Lumley Road, Skegness has been seen asking passers by for money,” said Skegness Policing Team’s PCSO Dave Bunker.

“Begging is an offence under Vagrancy Act 1824 and section 70 of the Criminal Justice Act 1982.

“We ask anyone who is approached and asked for money or other items to contact us on 101 and report the incident,” he added.
