The family of a missing man are asking him to get in touch and let them know he is safe and well, police have said.

A force spokesman said Tony Benton, 33, of Spilsby, was last seen on Tuesday afternoon, when he left his home to travel work in Ingoldmells by bus.

He did not arrive at work and has not been in contact with his family since.

The spokesman said Mr Benton is of short height, slim build, and has short brown hair. He is believed to have been wearing jeans or black jogging bottoms, grey and black trainers and two coats; one which is dark blue with a thick hood and the other is dark brown with fur around the hood.

He would also have been wearing a red baseball cap or woolly hat and carrying a blue shoulder rucksack.

The spokesman said Tony may have connections in the Peterborough area.

Pc Jon Best is appealing to Tony to contact Lincolnshire Police to let everyone know he is safe.

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident 416 of February 12, 2014.
