Alleged break-in attempt appeal

POLICE in Skegness have appealed for information after two males allegedly attempted to break into the RNLI lifeguard shed to the rear of the Embassy Swimming Pool.

The alleged incident took place at 6.45pm on Friday (November 4).

The two suspects left the scene in a white transit van that was abandoned at approx 7.15pm close to the North Shore Hotel.

A 16-year-old male from Doncaster was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and aggravated vehicle taking but a second man fled the scene.

He is described as dressed in black clothing, being of slim build and approx 6’ tall.

“Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw this man running from the transit van, possibly in the direction of the beach, or who saw either of the men earlier in the evening in the vicinity of the swimming pool,” said a police spokesperson.

The 16 year-old has been bailed until January 13 pending further enquiries.
