Alford overhead cable copper theft


Police are appealing for information about the theft of copper from an overhead cable at Withern, near Alford.

The offenders targetted three 80m spans of overhead power cable in a remote location near to Stain Lane, overnight on Thursday, April, to Friday, April 11.

The theft affected the power supply to many homes.

During the same period of time, other areas of cabling were also targetted at Stewton, near Louth, and in the North Willingham areas, including several hundred metres of cabling from a field adjacent to the Caistor High Street.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity overnight, or who has any information, should contact PC Simon Beaney by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 50, of April 11, 2014.
