£19,000 Spilsby theft charge

A MAN has appeared before magistrates after gold and money valued at more than £19,000 allegedly went missing from a Spilsby jewellery business.

Neil Benjamin Cole, 30, of no fixed address, but who gave a postal address in Codford in Wiltshire, was said to have been employed to carry scrap gold from the jewellers owned by Sarah Todd in Spilsby, to Birmingham.

No plea was entered during his appearance at Skegness Magistrates’ Court on Friday, and the magistrates declined jurisdiction.

He is due to be committed to the Crown Court on October 21 and was remanded on bail, on condition he does not contact Ms Todd.
