A Skegness couple recently under went the barber’s clippers together in aid of a heart unit which saved one of their mothers’ lives .
Sonya and Sammi-Jo Spence both decided to have their locks lopped off at Just Styles on Lumley Avenue to raise money for the Glenfield Heart Unit in Leicester.
“They saved my partner’s mum’s life twice,” said Sammi-Jo, explaining why they chose to support the unit.
Although Sammi-Jo said it was quite nerve-wracking to have such a ‘drastic’ cut she was glad to have raised for such a good cause.
The head shave raised around £120 for the heart unit thanks to donations from friends and family - for which they are very grateful .
“Quite a few friends have said that it suits us, but it’s growing back now,” added Sammi-Jo.
