Councillors help causes


More cash awards have been announced from the East Lindsey Councillor Community Grants scheme.

The following organisations have benefitted in our area:

Halton Holegate

Coun Jim Swanson awarded £500 to the 2nd Spilsby Scout group towards the refurbishment of the Scout hut. They money will be spent replacing old windows.

Coun Swanson also awarded £498 to Toynton St Peter’s Church to buy a bushcutter/strimmer to help with churchyard maintenance.

Burgh le Marsh

Coun Neil Cooper awarded £1,000 to Burgh Community Complex towards redecoration.

Coun Cooper also awarded £200 to Burgh Baptist Church to buy two weather-proof notice boards as part of the Community Hub project.


Councillors Mark Anderson and Sid Dennis awarded £220 and £150 respectively to Home Start East Lindsey towards a Christmas party for the children and families supported by the Home Start scheme.

Chapel St Leonards

Coun Fiona Brown awarded £250 to the Thursday Coffee Morning, Chapel St Leonards, towards rent at the village hall.

Coun Brown also awarded £300 to the New Horizons Group towards rent.


Coun Pauline Cooper awarded £274 to Croft Parish Council towards the refurbishment of the village war memorial.

Wainfleet & Friskney

Coun Kevin Smith awarded £415 to Fiskney Parish Council towards repairs to the children’s play area.

Coun John Upsall awarded £1,000 to Wainfleet All Saints Town Council towards broadband connection and furniture following the council’s move to Coronation Hall. The broadband will be made available to all residents using the hall. There are also plans to create a small community library at the hall.
