Could you become a champion for Skegness with the passion and knowledge to provide information and insights about the town to visitors and residents?

There is a chance to find out with a promotion event for the Skegness Ambassador scheme on Saturday (March 14). Training for the scheme is provided as part of the on-line Lincolnshire Ambassador Training Programme which is being launched on the day.

Town manager Lisa Collins has organised the event at Skegness Pier between 12-3pm as part of English Tourism week.

Information will also be available to find out how 16-25 year olds can get involved in volunteering for this year’s SO Festival.

Lisa said: “The partnership are involved in lots of new events for the forthcoming year, one of which is working closely with the railway station and Stagecoach to welcome visitors to the town, They are keen to have Ambassadors available to assist and signpost visitors to the local attractions and provide a warm and friendly welcome to Skegness. Jolly will also be taking part to provide a fun element.”

Skegness Mayor and Mayoress George and Julie Saxon will attending along with the Jolly Fisherman. Traditional Lincolnshire food is being served on the pier to mark the occasion.
