IF YOU think you have what it takes to become a firefighter then go along to the Skegness Community Fire Station recruitment day.

The event is being held on May 14 from 10am till 2pm and is open to both men and women over the age of 18 years.

The day will give keen individuals the opportunity to have a go at the full range of job-related tests, including the Chester Step Test – an aerobic fitness test which is necessary when wishing to become a firefighter. Practice booklets for the written tests will also be available.

The event will give visitors a chance to speak to on-call firefighters who will be able to offer advice and insight into the job.

To become an on-call firefighter, individuals must be over 18 years, and have a basic level of fitness.

Advice will be given to help them achieve the necessary fitness standard.

Both men and women are welcome and no prior qualifications are necessary as full firefighter training will be delivered.
