Organisers of a kitesurfing festival in Skegness are inviting families to bring their own kites and join in the fun.
With miles of kite-friendly coast close to the venue, they would like to see skies full of kites over the weekend.
The East Coast Beach and Watersports Festival takes place next to Skegness Pier over the weekend on May 19-20.
It includes the British Kitesports Championships, featuring the UK’s top kitesurfers - as well as spectacular displays by Team Extreme - BMX riders looking to compete in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Instructors from the BKSA will be running powerkiting have-a-go sessions and there will also be an opportunity to try paddle boarding.
The weekend includes live music, with international reggae singer Irie White performing on the stage at the Pier Beach Bar on the Saturday afternoon and top London DJ Gordon John headlining at the event party at the Grosvenor House Hotel on the Saturday night.
Russ Sparkes of the Grosvenor House Hotel, who is headline sponsor of the event along with the Lincolnshire Coastal Bid, said: “We’ve love to see the families coming to spectate at the event joining in the fun.
“The coast near the event venue has miles of kite-friendly beach and it would be fantastic to see the skies full of kites.
“It’s going to be a great weekend to bring a picnic and join in the fun.”
Kite-friendly beaches include the area next to Xsite Skate Park on North Parade towards Winthorpe. Kitesurfing is also popular from the beach next to the South Parade car park.
