Coastal Access group’s delight as sand clean-up volunteers defy weather forecast

The ‘Coastal Access for All’ group which works to keep beach paths in the Skegness area free from sand and debris is delighted after poor weather forecast for Saturday failed to materialise - ensuring a successful session for its volunteers this weekend.

But despite their successful work, the group continues to seek out further volunteers to help out, and has urged people to come forward.

In a message to the group’s Facebook followers, Paul Marshall, said: “Well the torrential rain that was predicted for us this Saturday didn’t happen I am glad to report.

“The sand clearance and beach clean went ahead as planned.

“Many thanks to the group from the Skegness Army cadets who did a splendid job. We will be holding our summer clean up day in July just before the schools break up.

“We do need more volunteers so that we can cover a wider area. If you run a small group or want to get involved yourself please contact me on

“Thank you for your support,” he added.
