Claimant count rises in East Lindsey

The number of East Lindsey residents claiming unemployment benefits has faced a year-on-year rise, according to new figures released today (Wednesday).

In February 2017, there were 1900 claimants across the district - a rise of 70 claimants compared to the same time last year.

For young claimants (18-24 year olds) the figures went the opposite direction, dropping from 485 claimants last February to 465 claimants this year.

Across the whole of Lincolnshire, the figures saw 60 fewer claimants in February 2017 compared to 12 months earlier.
