Charles Motley died at his home in Spilsby in March 2012, aged 80.
He was the eldest son of Samuel Charles and Frances Irene Motley of Sausthorpe, brother to George, Elsie, Ann and Margaret.
Charles was born at Raithby and attended Raithby school.
In 1947 He started work for Fred Cartwright at Hall Farm Raithby and later, at the same farm for Charles Wright.
He also worked for Dennets at Northbeck Lane, Hundleby.
In 1957 he married Joyce and they went to live in Willoughby; they had three children Juliet, Gavin and Gareth.
Charles started work for Roughtons after marrying Joyce and then for Markham Cook at Sausthorpe.
This farm was taken over by Hawkes and Wardle where Charles spent the last years of his working life.
His Grandchildren then became a huge part of his life, together with Bess the beloved black Labrador belonging to Gavin.
They walked many miles together before dementia made this impossible.
