A Horncastle-based charity is looking for volunteers to help run its town centre shop.

The Sir Joseph Banks Centre is based in Bridge Street and sells and promotes locally produced gifts, arts and crafts.

As a charity, the centre relies entirely on volunteers to staff the shop and is keen to hear from anyone who can help.

The shop opens Monday to Saturday from 10am-4pm.

Manager Kate Donald said: “We are coming up to one of our busiest times of the year. Retail experience would be an advantage but is not necessary.”

Sir Joseph Banks - a renowned botanist from the Georgian era - is regarded as one of the most famous people to have lived in Horncastle.
