Campers can enjoy a night under the stars while raising money for a good cause next month.

Camp for Cancer is taking place at the Crooked Willow Campsite, Burgh le Marsh.

Campsite owners Simon and Tara Thompson have organised the special night on Friday, September 12, to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

The evening, which is also open to non-campers, includes music from top tribute acts, and bar and barbecue.

Simon and Tara decided to organise a charity event after opening the campsite in May.

Tara said: “Combining the campsite with a fundraising event is something we have wanted to do for a while. We decided to raise funds for Cancer Research as my god-mother died of cancer in 2008. Cancer Research really liked the idea, I don’t think it has been done before locally and we would like to make it an annual event.”

Tara will be performing on the night as part of Abba tribute Abbaeyes.

Other acts appearing include Amy Winehouse and Adele tributes.

Tent pitches, £20, can be booked on 07779045006 or 07538751830, non-camping tickets, £5, on the night.
