The future of Pier Field in Skegness will be the focus at public meeting tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 24).

Residents are being asked to put forward their ideas on how the seafront site could be used by the community. The meeting at the Grosvenor House Hotel starts at 7pm and has been organised by the Save our Foreshore group.

The group recently won their battle for Pier Field to be listed as an Asset of Community Value with East Lindsey District Council agreeing to sell the site on the open market. There is a six week window to express an interest in buying the site, in line with the Localism Act 2011. This would give the group an opportunity to put forward a business plan and bid to purchase Pier Field.

Save our Foreshore co chairman Russell Sparkes said: “Now is the time for Skegness residents to come forward and be counted. We have six months in which to ensure a full proposal is placed before the council with a strong business forecast and secured funding. Stage One of this process is to find out what you the people of Skegness would like for your foreshore.”
