A record 1,122 job seekers attended a recruitment fair in Skegness.
More than 30 businesses were represented, with around 150 vacancies available and some applicants hired on the spot.
A queue of people had formed waiting to attend the event, which took place at the Embassy Theatre onWednesday.
The recruitment fair, was organised by Jobcentre Plus and East Lindsey District Council. Employers participating included Boots, Butlins, McDonalds and the Armed Forces.
Jobcentre Plus employment advisor June Howard said: “There was a record number of visitors this year and one employer was able to offer 10 jobs to people, who would be starting this week. The response has been phenomenal, with 400 people through the door in the first half-an-hour.”
She added: “With unemployment down 25 per cent in the last year, competition for jobs is a little bit tougher, employers are looking for people with the right attitude.
“This is an opportunity for jobseekers to talk directly to employers and sell themselves.”
