More than 250 jobs on offer at recruitment fairs

Two recruitment fairs with more than 250 job opportunities on offer will take place in Skegness and Mablethorpe later this month.

The events will be run by Job Centre Plus in conjunction with East Lindsey District Council. Some of the area’s biggest employers will be in attendance making it an important opportunity for job seekers ahead of the 2015 tourism season.

As well as both full and part time, permanent and temporary jobs on offer, there will be recruitment and training advice, as well as information on apprenticeship and volunteering opportunities.

Portfolio holder for economic development, Coun Craig Leyland, said: “In the run up to the main summer tourist season along the East Coast these recruitment fairs are a great opportunity for local employers to showcase the jobs they have available and for local people to see just what is on offer.

“In a district such as East Lindsey, seasonal employment is significant, so winter months can be particularly difficult for many people. We would therefore urge all jobseekers to attend one of the recruitment fairs to see what is on offer right on their doorstep.”

Employers already confirmed include a mixture of local and national names such as Haven, Park Resorts, the Dunes Complex, Louth Hotel, The Beck, Housing 21, Hica Home Care, Linkage, Clip, Butlins, Forever, Dolphin Restaurant, ELDC, CPBS, Magna Vitae Trust for Culture and Leisure, Avon, Boots, McDonalds, Fresh Fitness, Cucina Sano, Ambitions Personnel, Allways Care, Coastfield Leisure, Clarriots Home Care, AF Blakemore and Flippers. And, there will be job opportunities promoted within the NHS, RAF and Army.

With over 2,000 people claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance in East Lindsey, these events will assist in understanding the jobs market and accessing jobs and training opportunities.

June Howard, of Job Centre Plus, added: “There are many unemployed people searching for jobs in the area, but also people who have jobs that are seeking new challenges or a change in direction. These events are not just for the unemployed, they are for anyone who is interested in finding out what opportunities are available. There will also be training and volunteering also available to help people prepare to start applying for jobs as well as help and advice on all aspects of job-hunting.”

The recruitment fairs will take place at Mablethorpe Community Hall, on Friday, February 20, between 10.30am and 2.30pm, and the Embassy Theatre, Skegness on Wednesday, February 25, between 10.30am and 2.30pm with refreshments provided by the Skegness Chamber of Commerce.
