Marketing tool to help local events

A PROMOTIONAL tool to support cultural events in East Lindsey has been launched in a bid to drive the economy and create opportunities for local people.

East Lindsey District Council has unveiled its new events brand called East Lindsey Live, which will provide a website and publicity material for local people and visitors to find out about events across the district.

The brand, which will be officially launched in the New Year, will support the major programme of events organised by the district council as well as those hosted by local businesses and event organisers.

ELDC portfolio holder for leisure Coun Adam Grist has encouraged interested parties to apply to have their events promoted by the brand.

He said: “East Lindsey Live will be a brand associated with events that make a difference in our community.

“We’re lucky to have so many high quality events taking place in East Lindsey, including Wolds Words, SO festival, the Belchford Downhill Challenge, to name just a few, and no matter what the size of your event you can apply for the accreditation.

“As a district, East Lindsey has close connections to London 2012. We must build on the progress we’ve made so far and help to raise the profile of our area as a first choice visitor destination and part of this is making sure people know we are a district with high quality events and attractions.”

Event organisers can apply to have their event supported by East Lindsey Live for free, by completing an application form to demonstrate the beneficial effect it will provide the local area with.

Accredited events will be given a free website listing and be included in East Lindsey Live’s publicity material that will be produced.

The district council has pledged to deliver a high profile marketing campaign for East Lindsey Live to raise the profile of its own events and those it has given accreditation to.

Event organisers can also use the East Lindsey Live logo in their own publicity material to show that their event is accredited

There are two initial phases for applications to be considered on December 16, 2011, and March 16, 2012.

To apply to have your event accredited simply fill out an application form that can be downloaded from the council’s website at
