An early 18th century inn situated in the centre of Hogsthorpe has been sold as a freehold freehouse by specialist pub and leisure agents Fleurets.

The new owners are Terri & Bryan Walker from Buckinghamshire, previously Bryan ran the successful Movie Bar in Milton Keynes for nearly eight years.

Bryan said: “We plan to re-open the pub around the end of April as we intend to apply for planning permission for change of use for the function room and convert the room into two self-contained holiday lets to attract holidaymakers to the fantastic east coast just two miles away, also to ramblers who would like a base to explore the Wolds.

“Being a shooting man and being situated in a good part of the country for wild fowling I hope to put together shooting breaks throughout the winter season.

“We do not intend to get too involved with the kitchen side of the business at first but intend to promote this at a later date. I am going to put back some of the car park to lawn so as to attract outside trade for the summer months”.

The Saracen’s Head was sold off an asking price of £145,000.
