Two successful actors from Skegness will be sharing starring roles in a new crime movie.
Stacey Gough and Stefan Michaels will be appearing in Soldiers of Embers which starts shooting next month.
The pair, who are close friends off screen, will be playing detectives investigating a series of murders in the British-made thriller.
It will be the first time Stacey and Stefan have filmed scenes together, although their career paths have frequently crossed.
Both have roles in a movie called The Hit, based on the notorious Rettendon gangland murders in 1995, which is released next month, and made appearances in ITV1 soap Emmerdale.
They have also trained with acting coach David Johnson who has worked with stars such Sarah Lancashire, Anna Friel, and Michael Palin.
Now they are looking forward to bringing some of their off screen connection into their latest roles in Soldiers of Embers.
Stacey stars as DCI Greenwood and Stefan plays DSI Dawkins in the drama, which is being filmed in London and Norwich.
“It is great to be in the same film and working on the script together,” said Stacey.
“We have recorded some scenes from the film showing what we can bring to the table and the casting directors were delighted with it. My character is an old style copper with lots of experience, a bit of a tough nut while Stef plays more of an intellectual.”
He added: “Being friends adds to the on-screen chemistry. With a relationship like ours we don’t have to say anything there is just that connection.”
Stefan, who started working as a singer and comedian has enjoyed a burgeoning acting career in the last three years with roles in both Emmerdale and Coronation Street. He said: “I have been very lucky appearing in two soaps, there has been lots of other really good roles and things are going from strength to strength. I am really looking forward to working with Stacey and developing our relationship on-screen.”
