Chapel all set for Carnival

A CARNIVAL filled with a riot of colour and fun is set to take place in Chapel St Leonards this Saturday and Sunday (August 4-5).

Organisers are putting in the final touches to make the event fantastic with the main entertainment being held on the village green.

The baby show, which is sure to be popular, will be held in a venue near to the main event and other smaller festivities will be dotted around.

A whole host of events have been scheduled to take place on Saturday including; the grand opening by the Carnival Queen and Carnival princess at 10am, followed by Alford Silver band at 11am as well as lots of singers, a magic show, dance troupes, a BBQ on the beach at 7pm and a fireworks display for the evening.

On Sunday, Characters for Kidz will start at 11am followed by the parade at noon which starts from Happy Days carpark. Three will also be dancers and a dog show.

The event is organised by The Chapel St Leonards Carnival Club which is made up from volunteers from the community and local businesses. It receives no financial help and fund raises to make events possible.
