A new Burger King restaurant in Skegness which will create 40 jobs is set to open its doors in just over a week.

Customers will be able to enjoy its iconic, tasty menu options including its famous Angus Collection as well as introducing its recently launched Frappes and Smoothies range.

At 10am on August 2, Skegness Mayor Jim Carpenter is lined up to officially mark the grand opening of the new restaurant at Unit 5, Hildreds Centre, Skegness.

The move has been hailed as good news for the town, filling a prominent vacant unit and stimulating footfall.

Lamen Reddy, Operations Director of the new Burger King restaurant said: “We are excited to be offering employment to the area and we can confirm that at least 40 employees will be needed during peak summer season. The restaurant will be open from 9am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.

“We are working on a nationwide expansion so we have been looking at many areas of the UK for good opportunities to open a new restaurant and this excellent city was perfect.

“We would also like to thank Skegness Recruitment Company who has been brilliant in helping us with recruitment; we’d especially like to thank June Howard and Sue Mallows who really went the extra mile.

“We are overwhelmed by the support and feel very encouraged by the buzz being created from the local community.

“We are very happy to bring a Burger King restaurant to Skegness just in time for the town’s busiest time of the year.”

The company began in 1953 as Insta-Burger King. It was bought in 2010 by 3G Capital of Brazil in a deal worth $3.26bn.

It has more that 12,400 outlets in 73 countries, of which 66pc are US-based.
