ONE of Shakespeare’s best-loved romantic comedies is set to be performed in the atmospheric and enchanted setting of Bolingbroke Castle this weekend.

The Chapterhouse Theatre Company will bring its outdoor performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to the grounds of the historic castle on Sunday, June 24 at 7pm.

A spokesperson said: “Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents Shakespeare’s best-loved romantic comedy and whisks you away on a thrilling journey to the most magical of forests.

“Star-crossed lovers, playful fairies and raucous travelling players come together to create one of the most fun and frolicsome evenings of the summer.

“Picnic in the magical surroundings of the stunning open-air venue for a perfect evening of theatre under the stars.

“We pride ourselves on producing accessible, traditional but innovative shows that have entertained thousands of theatre-goers throughout the UK and Ireland,” they added.

The production team has won pluadits across the UK for the quality of its work. The Stage hailed the “comic flare and visual sparkle” of the company in a review just last year.

The castle is located on Moat Lane, Old Bolingbroke near Spilsby.

Tickets cost £15 for adults, £9 for students and children and £45 for families (two adults and two children).

The castle grounds will be open for picnics from 5pm and car parking is available in Chapel Lane.
