BUSINESSES in Lincolnshire are invited to discuss important economic issues with a local MP at an up- coming breakfast forum meeting.

The next meeting of the Skegness Business Forum takes place at the Marine Boathouse, Skegness, at 7.30am on Friday, January 13.

MP for Boston and Skegness Mark Simmonds will be discussing ways of encouraging economic growth, work skills, and government policy regarding small and medium business enterprises, amongst other important subjects.

The forum has been meeting regularly for almost three years to provide networking opportunities and updates on topical business information of local importance.

Forum organiser from Chatterton’s Solicitors Linda Clark said: “What we are trying to do is encourage people to work together while highlighting the wide range of diverse businesses in the Skegness area.

“We also try and keep businesses informed about what’s going on in their area and we are attempting to get local authorities, MPs and the police to work with businesses.”

The number of regular attenders to the bi-monthly meeting has grown to reach approximately 30 business representatives with many more occasional participants.

Key speakers at previous meetings have ranged from a Tesco spokesman who discussed the supermarket’s expansion in Skegness to the chief executive at East Lindsey District Council, Nigel Howells, who explained plans to help event organisers promote their events throughout the district.
