Work on the new bus interchange in Alford Marketplace has now been finialised.

County Coun Stephen Palmer, Lincolnshire Independent, Coun for Alford and Sutton Division said:

“I am very pleased with the finished result to the improvements to the South Market Place.

The area has been significantly improved, both aesthetically and most importantly from a safety angle. The bespoke bus shelter and street furniture gives a refined finishing touch”

The aim of the scheme is to provide a fully accessible and safe environment for users of public transport in Alford, whilst increasing local pride, creating a better climate for investment, encouraging tourism and to assist in the town’s regeneration.

The works are to provide ‘a vastly improved streetscape’ with new pedestrianised area, bespoke bus shelter, street furniture, information board and cycle parking.

The main bus services operating from the new interchange include, Hunts 7 Alford - Skegness, Hunts 10 Alford Town Service, Brylaine 96/96A Mablethorpe to Spilsby and the CallConnect Demand Responsive Service.
