The high winds in Lincolnshire blew a temporary canvas off Burgh-Le-Marsh windmill earlier today (Saturday, February, 15).

Western Power Distribution were alerted at 8.51am when a temporary tarpaulin on the cap of the Mill receiving restoration work was ripped off and became entangled on the chimney stack off a nearby property.

Debris from the windmill damaged an electricity pole on Burgh-Le-Marsh High Street.

The road was closed while the police, fire crews and over-head power linesman from Western Power Distribution made the power lines safe; which enabled the safe recovery of the tarpaulin.

Four properties were affected.

Power lines were disconnected at 10.10am and reconnected at 11.05.

The road reopened at approximately 11am.
