The build up of soot has been blamed for a chimney fire in Addlethorpe.

Fire crews attended an address in the village at 9.20pm last night.

In a Tweet from Lincs Fire & Rescue, they said the fire was extinguished using chimney gear. The cause is “believed to be build up of soot within chimney”.
