A brave breast cancer campaigner is preparing to undertake two marathon charity walks to help fight the disease which has affected many of her family and friends.

Jaclyn Bateman, of the famous family brewing firm, is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for vital breast cancer charities during the sponsored walks next month.

Along with thousands of other dedicated fundraisers, Jaclyn will be decorating her bra to take part in the Moonwalk on May 11, when she will walk 26 miles around London.

Having successfully completed last year’s Moonwalk, she has decided to go one better this time around by walking a further 100 kilometres from London to Brighton on May 25 and 26.

In preparation for the two events, she has given up alcohol and enlisted the help of a personal trainer to improve her fitness, but fears the enormity of the challenge may be her undoing.

“Trepidation is putting it mildly, I’m scared I won’t complete the 100k in the allotted time of 30 hours or that I get something stupid like a blister,” she said.

Jaclyn’s fundraising page has already amassed a considerable total, with more than £2,000 received in donations to assist Walk the Walk Worldwide - a non-profit charity, raising money and awareness for breast cancer charities.

Last year the charity raised more than £8 million to support centres across the UK caring for cancer sufferers.
