A kind-hearted Bon Jovi tribute band has agreed to support a courageous young boy who has organised a fundraising event in his mother’s memory.
The Bon Jovi Experience say they simply could not refuse 10-year-old Jack Colvill-Lowndes’ request for them to perform at his Run to Remember charity event on Saturday .
“He is an example to us all and a boy who certainly ‘kept the faith’,” they said.
Jack has organised the fundraising event at Wainfleet’s Magdalen School seven years to the day after his mother, Steph, died from skin cancer to raise funds for the charity, which helped the family during their hardest times.
He said: “For people who are not sure what Run to Remember is about - my mummy died of cancer seven years ago and I want to say a big thank you to St Barnabas Hospice for looking after her, so I am organising a fun run to raise money for them.”
Jack has invited people to take part in a three-lap sponsored run or walk around Wainfleet’s Magdalen Primary School field, with everyone under 16 receiving a gold medal for their efforts.
Registration starts from 10am costing £3 per person. Other attractions on the day include performances from The Bon Jovi Experience’s Joni, and also Nikita Singer.
There will also be a raffle with lots of ‘amazing prizes’, a barbecue, bouncy castle, stalls, refreshments, face painting and more.
